Is this all people are? Her gorgous eyes? His tattoo? Muscles, fat, nervous habits, weird hairstyles (or lack of one), deformities, scars, illness, graceful hands, or clumsy feet, tears, pimples, awful singing voice, food choices.... do these make us what we are?
Because this seems to be the criteria by which we decide how to treat other people.
We're all just humans, trying to understand how to deal with what we've been given. If I embarrass myself in front of everyone, does this make me less of a person? What IS a person, anyway? A collaboration of characteristics, this hair color, that weakness, those lips, that mole, and Something else. We have souls. Who cares what physical things have been given to you! Crooked teeth, a high voice for a man, facial burn, fuzzy hair, low metabolism... yes, we all have some things we wish we didn't! But you have been given something infinitely more precious. You have been given a soul.
A soul so beautiful, intricate and deep that it doesn't even belong in this beautiful, intricate world. In spite of the failings of the mind, this "knowledge" that we try to use to convince these souls otherwise, they respond to the calling of Beauty. Whatever that beauty is... our souls seem to be chipped off of it and embedded in flesh. hey pull to be united again to that which is calling. He is calling.
